I have a simple question that quite troubles me,
If Gandalf was a Maia, then who are the Istari (Order of Wizards).Are they Maiar as well?

The Istari are a collection of Maiar. They're not different; they're just the ones who have been sent to Middle-earth in the shape of old men.
